This is a blog for those interested in expat life in Costa Rica, its charms and challenges. Anecdotes, devoid of advice. I write to ground myself in the joys of everyday life while the world seems to be falling apart.
I’m informed by my psychology background and dabbling in qigong, insight meditation, and A Course in Miracles. As spiritual beings temporarily trapped in meat suits in a world that fails to recognize our unity and oneness, we’re all expats no matter where we live. The geographic cure brings some relief, joy and distraction. But our luggage accompanies us and there’s no baggage fee—in fact contrary to the airlines we cannot lose it, even if we try. It’s only when we claim it, unpack it ourselves, and relinquish the contents can we become the best expats we can be.
Wishing everyone happy travels wherever you are and wherever you go!
